"It takes a tragedy like September 11th to remind us of your heroism each and every day. We want you to know how we appreciate you and how we grieve with you on the loss of your peers in New York.”

Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lower Merion, Narberth, Conshohocken and West Conshohocken (VMSC) was established in 1944 as a volunteer ambulance corp. In the ensuing years, VMSC has become a combination volunteer/career Emergency Medical Service organization that provides Advanced Life Support Services in a 49 square mile area in the suburbs of Philadelphia. VMSC operates 24/7/365. We are a non-profit 501(c) 3 volunteer-based ambulance company responding to over 7,000 calls in the last year for the 106,000 residents and 7,000 businesses in the municipalities we serve. VMSC has done an outstanding job in the past several years maintaining our operating budget in a fiscally sound manner. Since VMSC is not tax supported, the funds available to meet the needs of the operation are strictly dictated by the number of calls answered, the number of patients that have the ability to pay for services (via insurance or private pay) and the contributions from the communities we serve through our membership drive.

It is that time of the year again when Volunteer Medical Service Corps (VMSC) asks for your
support of our annual fund drive.  Last year, VMSC was dispatched to over 7,200
9-1-1 calls within the Townships and Boroughs we serve.

As a nonprofit organization, VMSC’s mission is to provide the highest quality pre-hospital
emergency care and medical transportation for our communities.  We pride ourselves in bringing
our residents, businesses and those who pass through our service area the best qualified EMT’s
and Paramedics.  In order to continue this mission, VMSC needs your financial support.

Our organization is viable because of the enormous commitment of our Volunteers and Career
members.  We are proud of our seventy-three active volunteers, some of whom have
been with us for 15 to 27 years. Our volunteers give the organization over 4,500 hours each year.
Our career staff consists of members that have been with the organization up to 25 years.
All VMSC members serve the community 24/7/365.

VMSC does not receive your tax dollars.  We rely on your on-going generous donations to our
membership drive, contributions, grant/foundation awards and gifts-in-kind.

VMSC needs your membership support.  Your membership fee of $60 for a family,
$45 for a senior couple/family or $40 for single person insures that,
regardless of insurance, you pay only 15% of the balance after your co-pays and
deductibles are satisfied.

You may pick up a membership packet at our main station at 101 Sibley Ave in Ardmore or have one mailed to you by calling the Business Office at (610) 645-7770 or download the membership brochure.

If you would like to donate via the internet please go to www.JustGive.org or www.guidestar.org . Once on one of those sites you can just search for VMSC, Narberth Ambulance or Volunteer Medical Service Corps. You will then be lead to our donation page.

Please remember that VMSC is not only your designated emergency medical provider, our volunteers and career staff are your co-workers, friends and neighbors who depend on this annual appeal to continue our operations.
